Troop 914
Holy Cross Academy
Holy Cross Academy
Troop 914 was founded in 2024 through the merger of three Boy Scout troops — Troop 336 at St. Michael the Archangel, Troop 645 at Our Lady of Providence and Troop 725 at Seven Holy Founders (formerly St. John Paul II).
The goal is to create a robust, sustainable Scouting program for the youth in the Catholic parishes served by Holy Cross Academy. The new troop number (914) was selected in honor of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, celebrated every year on September 14.
The Scouts BSA program is infused with character-building activities that allow youth to apply abstract principles to daily living situations.
Scouting encourages young people to recognize the needs of others and take action accordingly.
Scouting provides structured settings where young people can learn new skills and develop habits of continual learning that will help them succeed.
Our programs today include strong drug abuse awareness and prevention programs emphasizing the value of healthy living habits.
A Scout is reverent. Our Scout troop encourages each young person to begin a spiritual journey through the practice of the Catholic faith.
We have a process that screens, selects, and trains the leaders who can provide mentoring young people need to succeed in life.

The traditional Scouting program, Scouts BSA is where youth develop outdoor survival skills, self-confidence, and ethics through youth planned activities with increased attention to service, community engagement, and leadership.
Scouts BSA is where youth explore their interests and develop skills by participating in outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and canoeing. Scouts earn merit badges along the journey and work towards achieving Scouting’s highest rank—Eagle Scout.
Scouts typically meet once a week. Troops may hold special activities, like service projects or outdoor experiences, in place of or in addition to one of the weekly meetings.
Elected youth lead their troop and run the meetings at the guidance of the Scoutmaster and other adult leaders. Unlike Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA is a youth program planned mainly by the Scouts, not the parents.
